Shared Sports Pitches
The pitches are arranged to offer flexibility, maximise potential and provide opportunities for community use.
The floodlit synthetic pitches include two 2G sand carpet hockey pitches, a 3G rubber crumb rugby pitch with cross-play facility for two junior soccer pitches, and a reinforced sand mattress GAA pitch with cross-play facility for two intermediate soccer pitches or one rugby pitch. A six lane 100m running track is also included.
The grass pitches are designed to seasonally adapt with cross-play facility for a broad range of sports including GAA, rugby, soccer, athletics and cricket. They are located away from existing mature planting to promote a sensitive sustainable approach for the conservation of habitat and to avoid potential future issues with over-shadowing.
