Careers West – Showcasing Opportunities for Young People in Omagh

Published: 19th November 2025

The Careers West Exhibition was held in the Omagh Leisure Complex on 16th October 2025. Held as part of Shared Education Day during Good Relations Week, the event showcased a wide range of career pathways including, construction, emergency services, education, information technology, financial services and many others. More than 650 young people attended the event to engage with 63 different employers, agencies and organisations.

Pupils from the schools migrating to the Strule Shared Education Campus were joined by pupils from schools across the west of Northern Ireland from Castlederg to Dungannon.

This inclusive careers fair was designed to help post-primary pupils make informed decisions about their future and to demonstrate the wide variety of employment paths open to them. Attendees had the chance to engage directly with organisations, explore skills and qualifications needed for various professions, and gain practical guidance to shape their next steps.

This event reflects the values of the Strule Shared Education Campus, promoting collaboration, inclusion, and ambition. By connecting schools, employers, and communities, Careers West demonstrates how education investment delivers benefits beyond the classroom – strengthening relationships and creating opportunities for all.

This event will become an annual fixture in the Strule calendar that we hope will grow over the years to come.
